Making a Drum Sander - Part 2 - Base

I won't write too much about the base, I hope most will be clear from the pictures.

The core is a particle board to which I attached two wooden columns reinforced with threaded steel rods for fixing the sanding drum.

Onto this board I affixed some wooden prisms and a second board, making the bottom double with a space between the boards. After that, I cut a piece of the top board between the columns because that is where a tilting table will be.

The tilting table will allow me to regulate the distance from the sanding drum and I will write about its construction next week.
